Prof. Dr. Uta Berger, project leader
Full time professor for Forest Biometry and Systems Analysis, TU Dresden: Dynamics of complex ecological systems, risk assessment of management scenarios, disturbances, and long-term changes of environmental factors on the functioning of ecological systems, development of ecological theories and modelling concepts, evaluation of ecological parameters, statistical data analysis.

Research associate at the school of Geographical and Earth Sciences of the University of Glasgow: Plant morphological plasticity along environmental stress gradient, restoration ecology and community dynamics.

Full time researcher at the Institute of Ecology (INECOL, AC) Mexico: Ecophysiology, salt stress, long-term ecological research, functional ecology, geomorphology of mangroves and restoration ecology.

Prof. Dr. Nadezhda Nadezhdina
Professor at the Mendel University in Brno: Plant physiology, water relations in the soil-plant-atmosphere continuum, three hydraulic architecture and hydraulic redistribution within trees and by tree roots

Full time lecturer at the School of Geographical and Earth Sciences, University of Glasgow: Biogeomorphology, Bio-physical interactions and temporal matching in ecosystems, disturbance ecology and coastal environmental change

Institute of Ecology: Wood anatomy, Functional anatomy and hydraulic architecture.

Guest researcher at TD Dresden, with a research background on ecological and socio-ecological modelling, using mainly agent-based simulation models. His current research is based on species interaction in the Southern-Ocean and emergence of mono-dominant stands in tropical forests, combining social network analysis and agent-based models that include the emergence of pastoral property regimes.

Dr. Ing. Roman Plichta (Mendel University in Brno)
Roman Plichta is Assistant professor at the Department of Botany of the Mendel University in Brno, where he develops research on functional anatomy and ecophysiology of trees

Research associate at the Faculty of Environmental Sciences at TU Dresden: ecological modelling, statistics, microbial ecology and evolution, ecological networks and plant-soil systems.

Alec Downey (ICT International, Australia)
Alec is head of Plant Science Applications and Research at ICT International Pty Ltd, and expert on measurement and data interpretation of sap flow.

Ecology, Individual-based modeling, Population dynamics and Point pattern analysis.

CIRAD-GEEN Researcher in social geography and spatial modeling. He
developed a research methodology based on field work and companion mod-
eling combined with the formalization of the observed processes and
agent-based models. He tackles the scientific challenges proposed by
landscape dynamics and cooperation processes.
